Halftime

I saw the big game Sunday night, and I saw the halftime show. What I didn't see was the obscene gesture that got a lot of people talking. I almost wonder if NBC and the NFL made the story up, just to prove that the whole lip-synched, over-produced spectacle actually happened live.

All this got me to thinking of my early days as a football fan…

XIV. 1980. Steelers. Rams. Up With People!

Corny? Sure. But if you ignore the performers’ costumes and watch for the well-dressed extras in the conga line, it really isn’t so bad.  And let’s face it, this is a production that leaves little room for doubt. There’s no question that this could be set up, performed, and dismantled in 15 minutes.
